I would like to congratulate our girls basketball team on picking up 2 wins during the first week of the season. The Lady Bulldogs defeated the Bainbridge Lady Bearcats on Thursday night and the Calhoun County Lady Cougars on Saturday night!
Congratulations also goes out to coach Kiel Angry, as he picked up his first career win as the head boys basketball coach Saturday night in Calhoun County. The Bulldogs picked up their first win of the year after two hard fought contests during the week against Lowndes and Bainbridge. The boys are back in action this upcoming weekend at the Florida Get Down in Orlando.
Our middle school basketball programs were also in action this week. The 7th grade girls remain undefeated with their 53-6 (no that is not a mistake) victory over Thomas County Middle on Tuesday. The 8th grade girls went 2-1 on the week, defeating both Pelham and Cook while dropping a close one to Worth County. On the boys side, the 8th grade boys defeated Worth on Monday 47-37.
On Friday night the football Bulldogs battled until the end and pulled out the 2nd round victory over a tough Liberty County Panthers squad. With the 13-6 victory, the Bulldogs are back in the GHSA Quarterfinals for the 4th consecutive year. This Friday night at 8 PM in Veterans Memorial Stadium the Bulldogs will take on another set of Panthers, this time from Carver-Atlanta High School. Tickets are on sale at the school Monday and Tuesday from 9-3:30 and Friday from 9-12. You may also purchase through GoFan all week: https://gofan.co/app/events/803018?schoolId=GA24306
I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and get to spend some much needed time with your families. Make plans to bring the whole crew out to Veterans Memorial Stadium on Friday night to cheer on our Dogs as they continue their playoff journey!
Go Dogs!
