📚🔬 Hands-On Science in Action! 🔬📚 Mrs. Jones' 8th-grade Physical Science class at Scholars Academy explored the fascinating world of acids and bases using collaborative grouping! 💡✨ Students rotated through interactive stations, using pH strips to test the acidity and base levels of everyday solutions and household chemicals. 🏠⚗️ Through hands-on experiments and teamwork, they deepened their understanding of how indicators reveal chemical properties. 🧪🔍Great job, future scientists! 👏🔥

🚨Important Weather Update – School Closure for Friday, January 24🚨 Thomasville City Schools will be closed Friday, January 24, due to continued hazardous icy conditions. All after-school activities are also canceled. The safety of our students, staff, and parents is our top priority. 🚨Important Weather Update🚨 Due to continued wintry weather conditions, Thomasville City Schools will remain closed on Thursday, January 23. The county-wide curfew has been extended until 8:00 AM Thursday. Icy road conditions continue to pose a safety concern, making travel unsafe for buses, staff, students, and parents. Additionally, our HB581 hearing scheduled for January 23 will be rescheduled. The hearing on February 3 will proceed as planned. ✨RESCHEDULED✨ The Thomasville City School’s Transition Fair is a free event for families of students with disabilities. It will provide valuable information on preparing for the future after high school. The transition from school to work or to secondary education is often difficult. Representatives from useful agencies will be available to speak with you on matters related to education and advocacy, medical and legal issues, counseling and care, vocational rehab and employment services, and more. The key to success is planning! Due to weather, this event has been rescheduled for February 20, 2025, from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Thomasville High School Cafeteria. ✨📚 Mrs. Sumner’s 7th-grade math class was buzzing with excitement this week as students rotated through interactive stations to master proportional relationships! 🧮💡 From representing data in tables, graphs, and equations to computing unit rates with real-world examples, these young mathematicians worked together, shared strategies, and brought math to life in a hands-on way. 🌟👏 Watching these students engage, collaborate, and grow is what learning is all about! 🚀🔢

📢📢CSL Courtesy Reminder Notices are being sent home this week. These papers show the number of completed and correctly documented hours earned for semester one (August 5 through December 20). It does not include moving day service. 🪧🪧Students and parents should sign and date and return the notices to the homeroom teacher. 🪧🪧 Remember, your should have completed 20 hours by the first week of May. That means there are 14 weeks left. Be deliberate and search out opportunities. You are limited to 6 hours of donations and 10 hours in one location.
